On Saturday, August 6th hosted by YWAM Pittsburgh
Photo booth, skin care tips, jewelry making & so much more!…
Last Saturday, I had the privilege to host my first event for young teen girls in our community. We wanted to do something that would be fun, memorable and teach them things practically and spiritually.
Our young woman are constantly being bombarded with messages of having to fit a specific criteria in order to be considered beautiful. While I am one who has a heart and passion for the beauty industry, I also have a greater desire of revealing the inner beauty industry.
As we played and had fun showing these girls simple Mary Kay skin care routines, we followed that up with teaching them important daily self talk routines. Reminding them who they are and WHOSE they are. Shandia Booker, author of Dear Brooklyn, Love Yourself was an incredible encourager for these teens.
To end our time, we provided lunch, back to school backpacks and even made jewelry with the girls! I couldn't have done this without the help from the ladies working with Family Guidance. My next goal is to begin doing a weekly discipleship program for these girls.
Reminder, August 20th-September 5th!
Here is a reminder that I will be back in the Lansdale/Philadelphia area for break and fundraising. I would love to get together with you! If you are interested in connecting with me during this time please feel free to reach out!
God bless you all! Until next time.
